Swamiji's
Lineage
Yoga
is a discipline of wisdom passed from Master to disciple since
time immemorial and Swamiji is the living successor of an ancient
lineage of great Spiritual Masters.

Sri
Alakhpuri
In
the middle of the inaccessible mountain range of Sambu
Panca Atala Akhara, there dwells the Omnipresent Supreme
Brahman in the form of the hermit ascetic Sri Alakhpuri
Maharaj. It is said that from time to time he appears in
physical form in order to re-establish the eternal spiritual
principles. He is regarded as one of the great rishis or
ancient sages of the satya loka, the supreme cosmic sphere
of pure truth and reality.

Sri
Devpuriji Mahadev
Sri Alakhpuri's successor is Sri Devpuriji Mahadev, a revered incarnation
of Lord Shiva - the destroyer of ignorance and liberator of souls. He was
an ascetic Saint who lived in the remote desert regions of Rajasthan, India.
As an embodiment of Lord Shiva, many miraculous events took place during
his lifetime. This unorthodox Saint roamed with a menagerie of animals
and birds, with whom he communicated wordlessly. On numerous occasions
he bestowed perfect sight to the blind, perfect health to the gravely ill,
and even revived dead infants to life. But above and beyond all such miracles,
were his spiritual teachings - practical and to the point, inspirational
and full of divine wisdom - for Lord Shiva is the destroyer of ignorance
and evil, the bestower of pure consciousness and knowledge of God. Known
as a Master of the elemental forces, it is said that the wind is his breath,
and to see Devpuriji one need only look into the rising sun. |

Sri
Deep Narayan Mahaprabhuji
Sri Devpuriji's successor, Bhagwan Sri Deep Narayan Mahaprabhuji was one
of the most divine incarnations ever to walk this earth. A God-Realized
Saint, he was truly a pure embodiment of divine love. When he incarnated
on this earth flowers fell from the sky and all the oil lamps of his village
spontaneously lit. He lived an utterly simple life in the desert regions
of Rajasthan, India from 1828 until 1963. Sri Deep Mahaprabhuji, his name
meaning "great light", was a fine poet and when he expounded
spiritual teachings, he did so in melodious prose.
A loving soul, who was dedicated to easing the suffering of humanity, he
taught by his own example, emanating the supreme Truth of God, and these
truths he captured in his Golden Teachings. Whatever he said came true.
Wherever he went, people were drawn to him, like bees to nectar. His actions
and words were simple, yet all could sense the purity and sincerity with
which he guided people to the experience of God. "Love each and every
living being at least as much as yourself" was the essence of his
Golden Teachings for mankind. Each living being, humans and animals alike,
are the children of God, and thus all are part of Him. We are all united
in the universal consciousness.
To "love" means to understand, forgive, help and give. The aim
of human life is to realize this truth, but first we must surrender all
thoughts of pride, intolerance, separation, egoism and selfishness. At
135 years of age, Sri Deep Mahaprabhuji left this earth, but his spirit
is ever present in the light that he kindled in the hearts of his disciples. |

Dharmsamrat
Paramhans Swami Madhavanandaji
Bhagwan Sri Deep Narayan Mahaprabhuji's successor was Paramhans Swami Madhavanandaji,
affectionately known as Holy Guruji. He was one of the few spiritual masters
of the modern age who was truly authentic in the tradition of yoga. Childlike
in his devotion to God, yet strict in discipline, Holy Guruji lived a life
of complete service. As the direct disciple of Sri Deep Mahaprabhuji, he
attained the blessed state of God-Realization simply through pure devotion
and service to his Master. "Enter the kingdom of God through the gate
of sacrifice" is his encouragement to all seekers of God, for union
with God is attained only when there is complete, unconditional surrender
of body, mind and soul.
Throughout the course of his life he travelled India extensively, spreading
the teachings of his Master. As an accomplished singer, he often expressed
these teachings in the form of Bhajans - spiritual song. Holy Guruji declares
that the potency of spiritual song can penetrate the human heart, to reveal
the beauty and profound knowledge of God that is inherent within. By setting
an example through his life of pure devotion to God, and service to all
living beings, Holy Guruji is an inspiration to all seekers of the Truth.
On October 31st 2003, Holy Guruji left his physical body. |
